Have you tried barre before? It’s a craze hitting Dallas hard! But we’re not here to talk about barre (even though The Barre Code has an amazing barre class). We’re here to take it up a notch and try out BarRestore. This class is a full-body workout that consists of isometric holds and heavy repetition, working muscles to fatigue. Sound familiar? The difference is 30 minutes of hardcore barre followed by 20 minutes of relaxing deep stretches and meditation.
Sounds pretty easy, right? Eh, not so much. Class starts with a quick warm-up before burning out those abs. Crunches, planks, windmill those legs, a little up, a little down, and hit those obliques! Each movement singles out and works a specific piece of the abs to reach that flatter tummy before moving on to a short series of arms. Weights or no weights, these tiny pulses focus on strengthening those triceps, biceps and back muscles.
As always, there’s some barre work involved! Back to the barre, point that toe, and start those little lifts. The small, isometric pulses and tucks help to tone the inner and outer thighs. Feel that shake and your body changing! In some poses, lift your heel and show off your highest stiletto to add an extra challenge to the workout. Finish with bridge pulses and tucks to tighten those glutes. This is the perfect time to lift those heels.
That’s a lot to cover in just 30 minutes, but now it’s time to wind down. Relax those muscles with deep stretches and give them some extra attention during the last 20 minutes.
BarRestore is a great sneak peak into a barre class, if you’ve never tried one before! At The Barre Code, you can jump right into a barre class or work your way into feeling more comfortable. If you’re looking for something else, try out their other classes! They offer dance cardio Barre-dio, cardio kickboxing BRAWL, HIIT, and bootcamp TBC.
