Happy New Year!! The holidays have past and it’s time to focus on our goals for 2017! We’ve eaten our fair share of goodies and champagne. Now we’ve got to work it off!

Women’s Self Defense Class
7:15 pm – 8:15 pm at Fired Up Fitness
Learn how to defend yourself with Eric at Fired Up Fitness. This class will teach basic techniques and strategies to protect yourself.Tickets are $15, sign up now to save your spot!

January 7th –

New View, New You
12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at THE Alexan
THE Alexan is a new downtown, boutique-style community located off Katy Trail and 35/Dallas N Tollway. For their opening, and the new year, they are hosting a sky high yoga sessions with a juice bar. Wellness giveaways and small bites will be served. RSVP through their Facebook or contact the leasing office for more details.

Barre and Bites at the Reunion Tower

Join The Ginger Marie Blog by starting off the new year right with a special event benefiting Cancer Foundation for Life. Each guest will get pampered with massages, manicures, braid bar and more before taking on the year! Tickets are $20 and include the workout, swag bag, tasty snacks and a drink.

January 8th –

Barre and Brunch with Dallasites101

Start your year on a HIGH note (or the 38th floor) with a barre class hosted by The Barre Code Design District followed by brunch and bubbles! Many community favorites will also be there, including Kize Concepts Inc., Bandier Dallas, Muscle Milk, Wework Uptown, Freshii Victory, High Brew Coffee and more! Tickets are $10 for non-members and include 50 minute barre class, brunch, mimosas and free garage parking. Bring your own mat!

We’re so thankful for our socially fit community! That’s why we’ve teamed up with Classic Pilates and instructor Lexi Hammonds for two free classes this month. We’re hosting the Equipment class on 1/8 and Mat on 1/29. Join us for one or for both! But don’t wait – class size is very limited. Sign up now!

Barre3 Grand Opening
All day at barre3 Richardson
Welcome to the neighborhood, Barre3! Barre3 is functional training with a twist. Rooted in three fitness disciplines—ballet barre, pilates and yoga—barre3 workouts will have you feeling strong and balanced inside and out. To celebrate their new location, they are offering free classes! Sign up now!

January 14th –

Yoga on the Square
10:00 am – 11:00 am in Downtown Carrollton
Downtown Carrollton hosts a free all levels yoga class every second Saturday of the month. Whether you are new to yoga or a long term practitioner, this is a great class for everybody. Kids are welcome! Small towels, essential oils and bottled water will be available. Bring your own mat!

Yoga at Community Beer Company

Yoga and Craft Beer anyone? It’s the best way to spend your morning! CubeFit Yoga and Community are teaming up to bring you a great practice and delicious beer all in one. Tickets are $15.00 and include a complimentary pint and a behind the scenes brewery tour following the yoga session!

May I Be Healthy
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Divine Center of Yoga
Eating right isn’t always the easiest or the fun thing to do. Julie Parsons and Kristi McIntosh are hosting a 2-hour workshop teaching how to eat clean, meditate and practice yoga. At the end of the sessions, they will provide you with a 14 day plan to begin right away! Tickets for the workshop are $30.

January 15th –

New Year Shape Up Kick Off WorkshopPicture

The #GRITFAM is kicking off 2017 on a healthy note! Register now for their super-effective 4 Week Shape Up Fitness and Nutrition program. The kickoff workshop includes goal setting, meal planning and workout planning seminar, and a live GRIT panel with Q&A with healthy bites and sips. $35 for members and $125 for non-members.

January 21st –

Paint & Sip Party | GRIT Fitness 2nd Anniversary

Congratulations to GRIT Fitness! Two years and going strong! To show their appreciation, GRIT it hosting Paint & Sip with Buzzed Art Nite. Come with an open mind and heart and be ready to laugh, relax, “wine down”! January 28th –

Okay, normally we wouldn’t suggest bad eating but come on! Have you tried a Hypnotic donut!? The event will have a 5k and 1-mile route with donut stops along the way! For the brave souls, sign up for the Chubby Bunny Contest. The contest will put 10-15 people on stage to see how much they can stuff their faces! Register now.

1st Annual Rodeo Run
8:30 am – 12:00 pm in Fort Worth
The Board of Historic Fort Worth, Inc. is happy to announce a new annual fundraiser, the Rodeo Run, a 5K family-oriented run. The run route starts and finishes at Thistle Hill, Fort Worth’s first landmark. Come celebrate Fort Worth’s western culture, and to zip past great historic buildings, all at the same time! Women’s Self Defense Workshop
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Roser Martial Arts Center
Did you miss the first workshop this month? Don’t fret – there’s another! This women’s only seminar will focus on basic awareness skills, boundary setting, and strategies. You will learn natural techniques which you will be able to effectively and instinctively perform while under stress through scenario training. Too Cold to Hold Half/10K/5K
8:00 am – 12:00 pm at Norbuck Park
Run the west side of White Rock Lake and past the Dallas Arboretum with the Run Project‘s new Half Marathon course! All runners will get a race t-shirt and all finishers will receive a finisher medal. Bring your friends out to enjoy the trails around White Rock Lake and one heck of a post-race party!
