Pilates with Mindful Movement

When we think of the first week of May, we think: Cinco De Mayo, Kentucky Derby and Mother’s Day. Who else was overwhelmed by the social activities of the weekend? We were. From margs to mint juleps to mimosas, this weekend made it So hard to monitor our caloric intake! I bet, far and few of you knew that among those holidays was also National Pilates Day! What a wonderful reminder to all of us, the importance of being social and fit. With all the social activities planned, we had no problem taking up Lorna Jane North Park’s invitation to an early morning Pilates class with Mindful Movement Pilates Studio.
This class was BYOM and bring your own small weights as well. The 60 minute session was perfect to wake up and prepare for the social day head of us. We began with light stretching and some yoga positions then branched off into some awesome ab workouts. The instructor threw some interesting flexibility exercises in, but no worries as you’ll see in the photos, it didn’t take a gymnast to do these moves! All exercises were done in multiple reps and intervals. The best part of all was due to the small class size, the instructor was able to work one on one with each of us!
Okay, we lied that wasn’t the best part of all, after we were done, Lorna Jane offered everyone 20% off all merchandise, before open mall hours! We also got to taste test some yummy juices from The Juice Bar – Dallas while shopping.
Pilates and shopping was followed up with some protein and caffeine at The Sip & Stir, then off to the races!
